Title: Train coming into Union Depot, Lookout Mountain, Point Hotel, late 1880s, stereoview
Catalog Number: 2017.032.0001
Date (Years): 1888, 1889
Stereoview image of a train traveling down railroad tracks, towards Chattanooga and Union Depot. The train and tracks are on the far left of the image. The engine, with smoke pouring out of the smokestack, is visible. There are telegraph lines running parallel to the tracks. To the right of the tracks is open space with random shrubs, old railroad ties, and a small shed. Lookout Mountain dominates the background.
Barely visible is the Point Hotel at the top right. The absence of the Incline No. 2 track and the Lookout Inn dates this stereoview to 1888 or 1889.
Handwritten on verso, No. 158, Chattanooga, Tenn., U.S.A. circa. 1900
