Title: Tennessee River valley, Moccasin Bend from Lookout Mountain

Catalog Number: 2017.049.0001

Date (Years): 1928

Elevated view of the Tennessee River valley taken from Lookout Mountain, 1928. Moccasin Bend is prominent in the image with Chattanooga in the distance. Also visible are the monuments around Craven House and the corner of the Point Hotel. Moccasin Bend is largely deforested with the land used for farming.
Written on the bottom is “Moccassin [sic] Bend Tennessee River from Lookout Mt. 1928”. However, Point Hotel was torn down sometime between 1912-1914 so the date written on the photo is incorrect. More likely dates between 1900-1910
