Title: Two small girls portrait. A. W. Judd

Catalog Number: 2018.007.0001

Date (Years): 1901-1910

Two small girls pose for a photograph in the studio of A. W. Judd. The smaller and younger girl is seated on a dark wood curvy leg side table, while the other stands to her right. The older girl has short light colored hair with white bows. She wears a white dress with lace on the sleeves, dark stockings and leather shoes with a bow at her ankle. The younger girl also has short light colored hair with curls. She’s wearing a white dress with lace at the collar, sleeves and along its bottom hem. She also wears dark colored leather shoes with buttons.

They are standing on a draped canvas background. A flower pattern fabric drape accented with ball tassels is painted on the canvas background. Although there are no names written on the verso of this image, the girls are very possibly sisters or closely related.

In the bottom margin, the photograph is stamped in gold leaf, A. W. Judd. 828 Market St., Chattanooga, Tenn. in an eagle, flourish, and ribbon design.
